Culture is universal all human groups create a design of living that includes either material andnon-material culture.Material culture refers to physical objects and resources people use to define their culture that is to say the homes they live in, the cars they drive, their schools, and clothing they wear.On the other hand non-material culture refers to the physical ideas people have, religion , language,and norms.
Cultural differences manifest themselves in different ways. In thefirst place, there are symbols these are words, gestures or objects that carry a particular meaning which is only recognized by those who share a particular culture.These symbols are easily developed and sometimes copied while others disappear.Additionally, norms are the means through which values are expressed in behavior.Everywhere in the world there are rules that make it possible to get things done.Norms can be broken down to four basic types; folkways or customs, mores which control moral and ethnic behavior, taboos which is a norm that society holds so strongly that violating it results in extreme disgust and laws, they are written down and are enforced by official law enforcement.Lastly. there is beliefs these are ideas viewpoints and attitudes of a particular society.These beliefs are the glue that holds cultures and families together.
