There’s finally some good news for “The Walking Dead” fans. The wildly popular American horror television series “The Walking Dead” and its spinoff “Fear The Walking Dead” are soon going to see an imminent crossover. “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman made an announcement about the much-awaited crossover at New York Comic Con, which was held on October 7, 2017.

 Although Kirkman refused to reveal about the character and the show in which the crossover character will debut in, he did confirm that the crossover would happen in 2018. He also teased fans that it is going to be a huge one and that more information about the same will be revealed in the upcoming months.

 The show creator was accompanied by cast members Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln, Lennie James, Melissa McBride, Tom Payne, Austin Amelio, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Katelyn Nacon to the New York Comic Con.

“There are two Walking Dead shows, I’m not gonna name them… There is one character that is going to go from one show, that I will not name… and appear in the other show, which I will not name,” Robert Kirkman said, reported Comic Book.

“Now, what does that mean? Because these timelines, like… how does that work? Are we going to see an interesting backstory of a Walking Dead character in Fear the Walking Dead? Or are we going to see a Fear the Walking Dead character show up in The Walking Dead and show a future version of the character?” he continued, reported TVGuide.

AMC teases first crossover preview image

Notably, soon after the announcement was made, AMC came out with the first preview image of “The Walking Dead” and “Fear The Walking Dead” crossover. The image teased the key art of the two AMC zombie drama shows blended together. Unfortunately, there was no indication as to when fans can expect the crossover to happen.

Director Greg Nicotero also introduced a clip from the “The Walking Dead” Season 8 premiere. The clip showed Rick’s teenage son, Carl (Chandler Riggs), as he scavenged for gasoline and came across a new character named Siddiq, played by Avi Nash. Nicotero said that the first episode contains callbacks to previous seasons.

 

The ABC show, “The Walking Dead” will return with season 8 on October 22, 2017. The upcoming season will consist of 16 episodes. “Fear the Walking Dead” season 4 is expected to make a debut in summer 2018.
