Definition:A mission statement is a clear and concise description of the company’s primary goals, objectives and purpose. It seeks to answer a fundamental question, “Why does my organization exist?”The mission statement helps to articulate and focus attention on the company’s main objectives for both for those work and operate within the business and for the end consumer, customer or client.Mission statements are just as diverse as the businesses they define and they describe a variety of of best practice and main core values that best describes the business or organizations respectively.An example of my mission statement for running a child daycare center would be as follows:Mission Statement Working together in partnership with parents to enable children to develop outstanding educational skills within within the day care center that best suits their individual requirements and that of their parents and families. Provide innovative, creative and progressive learning experience on all aspects of childcare for children, parents and all members of staff. Develop and improve all aspects of physical childcare development through planned excercise routines within a safe, relaxed and happy environment. Provide a safe and environment where all children can feel a sense of belonging and may respond cooperatively to both adults and other children.
Provide a planned, varied and healthy nutritional diet to meet the requirements of the children, the parents and the daycare center. Introduce children to the widest and most appropriate range of learning materials and learning situations as possible to meet their individual requirements. Employ, motivate and promote positive staff input, development and productivity through excellant management practice, provide rewarding staff incentives, effective training and leadership qualities within a satisfying work environment. Promote and encourage fair and equal opportunity and to provide excellant structured staff salaries. Foster regular parental group activity, participation and harmonious working relationships between staff, parents and children.
