Through choosing a career anybody hisdesired job and portray his excellence in his skills that suits his capability.On the other hand, the Philippines is in miscellaneous crisis and one of thesocial issues is poverty and its people are confronted and aware of it thus itneed passionate and determined workers in the industry.InJanuary 2013, the Philippines has 7.1% unemployment rate, the highest in thecountries from the Southeast Asian nations and from which are collegegraduates. (Pascual, 2014) Majority of the universities wasn’t being able toproduce courses that are needed to be considered in the demand of the presenteconomy.

Since the graduates don’t possess the characteristics required by theindustry due to the lack of a proper guidance that must be attained to choosethe right courses in college that suites the student’s ability. Misfitgraduates are one of the reasons why our country has high unemployment rate.This could be the wrong choice of course taken by the college students tend toimproper guidance in choosing the right course.TheGovernment used to find ways to lessen this problem in our society; toimplement a K-12 program of the educational system, specifically in theDepartment of Education need to gain the accretion of graduates before theyreach the college level. Senior High School is two years of specialized uppersecondary education (Official Gaze, 2012) SHS is a preparation for a collegelevel to explore and plan for their postsecondary career options whereas thereare some factors that can affect and change the views of your perception insetting goals. Students may choose their specialization based on their skillsand intellect capacity this would help the students to ensure and get into theright career served as a stepping stone to decide on their chosen career.

Moreover, this is one of the objectives of the Department of Education topromote the students educational success and qualify the adequacy skills thatare needed to the workforce of companies and institutions.Thisstudy aims to determine the factors that affect the career preferences of theselect students in Valencia National High School.  Statement of the problemThisstudy is to find out the factors affecting on the Senior High School Student’sin choosing the right courses for their preparation in college, this certaingeneral questions need to be addressed:1.

What factors influenced students when they made the decision to pursue aparticular career goal?2.Is the K-12 curriculum would help the students to make decision for preparingcollege course?Theoretical Framework2.1G-12 Decision makings            There are a lot of courses that wemay choose in choosing our career. For the Grade 12 students, there are someinstances that they may pick not for their own likes but they choose it becauseof their friends, factors influence decision making. These factors, includingpast experience (Juliusson, Karlsson, &G?rling, 2005) belief in personalrelevance (Acevedo, & Krueger, 2004), and an escalation of commitment, influencewhat choices people make.

Understanding the factors that influence decisionmaking process is important to understanding what decisions are made. That is,the factors that influence the process may impact the outcomes.2.2Career choice factorsThereare a lot of affecting factors in choosing preferred careers. The Governmentused to find ways to lessen problems in our society; to implement a K-12program of the educational system, specifically in the Department of Education.The need to gain the accretion of graduates before they reach the collegelevel. Senior High School is two years of specialized upper secondary education(Official Gaze, 2012). Conceptual FrameworkThereare some various factors that is either it could be directly or indirectlyaffects the career preferences of Senior High School students. The focus ofthis study was taken by the following conceptual frameworks which has thisthree part process: the Inputs, Process, and Outputs.Input– This includes the socio-demographic profiles of the select students, theirwanted field of study to specialized, and their career preference and factorsthat affects their career preferences.Process– Inresearch process, this includes in determining their career preferences anddetermining the leading factors that affect their career preferences.

We mayconduct a survey for the select Grade 12 students.Output– This study would identify the career preference of the select Grade 12 SeniorHigh School (SHS) students of Valencia National High School (VNHS) for certaininstitutions or universities that would like to design and implement SeniorHigh school program.Scope and Delimitations            This study is conducted in order todetermine the Senior High School students preferred career choice. The studywill include the K-12 program in Valencia National High School, specificallythe grade 12 students. It focuses on the preferred career choice of a student.The results of this study serve as basis in most preferred career choice in thecoming of years.

 Limitations of the StudyAlthoughthe study conducted has proven its purpose, there were few unavoidablelimitations encountered. First, due to the limited time, because the study wasconducted during class days and the given respondents classes are still ongoing. Second, this research was conducted on a small size population of G-12 seniorhigh school students. Third, respondents might be stacked with task andrequirement so the study might get delayed or even fail. In general, this studywill only involve the students who are in G-12 that will graduate this year. Significance of the studyThisprompted the research to determine the factors that affects the choice ofcareer of Senior High School in the Valencia National High School. Properguidance should be consider to help ensure in able to get into the rightcareer.

This may also help the students identify the reasons why the governmentimplemented the K-12 program in the educational system.
