"Leon County Commissioner John Dailey requested a $300,000 bailout for Goodwood on April 8, 2008.  The Leon County Commission approved the bailout on September 16, 2008. Elected officials approve spending bed tax dollars to directly compete against private owners of meeting space.  They also approve spending to promote the 90% Tax Funded Performing Arts Center Boondoggle. Commissioner Daily said that the County Commission doesn't make bed tax spending decisions.  He also told many citizens that Goodwood would pay the $300K back to the county.
